Guest guest
I found a site where people were really pleased with the results they got from injecting methylcobalamin. what are your thoughts? I doubt I have a deficiency, since I eat a ton of raw meat, fish, etc. daily, but I don't mind learning, if you have any experience. mike
Guest guest
Methylcobalamin is the one you have to watch out for if you have mercury problems (which I do). Methylcobalamin acts as a methyl donor and can convert various forms of mercury in the body to methyl mercury. If I take any methylcobalamin I will get some nasty insomnia and will just feel really ungrounded. I have had no reaction to hydroxocobalamin and dibencozide, so I do take those occasionally...and both of those should be active within the body from what I read. - > > I found a site where people were really pleased with the results they > got from injecting methylcobalamin. what are your thoughts? Guest guest
Thanks for the responses NN. Also Sharon, I found really good stuff on B12 vegetarian chat groups, I think that's so hilarious you got stuff from them too. , my friend who follows Cutler told me that Cutler doesn't believe b12 causes mercury methylation. Maybe the insomnia is caused by the energizing effects it can have on some people. What it did to me was make me pass out and someone explained to me that somehow it can affect certain people with an increase in neurotransmitters which made my heart rate go up but also made me really sleepy. In the end there's so many factors, one just never knows. " Never listen to anyone who tells you anything is harmless. " Amen to that CM. That's the moral of the story. I would recommend for anyone taking any supplements to do a " negative " search of it on the internet. Almost treat them like drugs. One example: you always see a lot on Cayenne but when I was taking it and I felt awful and then I read it affects blood sugar and so does marshmallow and I have horrible blood sugar. But again, not everyone is affected the same way. It pays to go slow and pay attention. I just think language is what differentiates us the most from other life forms and I think if we are as precise as possible when speaking about supplements we can help fashion a more exacting way of understanding the intricacies of healing and health. A lot of people on here are good about that. > > > > I found a site where people were really pleased with the results they > > got from injecting methylcobalamin. what are your thoughts? The betaine was harder for me to pinpoint as it was in some digestive enzymes I was taking but I finally figured out that it was giving me insomnia because I got an isolated form of betaine and tested it and it certainly had a devastating effect on my sleep patterns. -
Guest guest
I have never heard about Betaine and methylation before. What does one do for low stomach acid? on the mercury autism group there's an entry by Andy Cutler that talks about B12 and methylation under June 6. I didn't want to cut and paste from another chat group b/c that may be bad etiquette but maybe you would want to check it out. Once things get into too much detail my ADD takes over. I'm better at concepts and models than specifics but you may know what they are talking about. -- In , " gdawson6 " <gdawson6@...> wrote: > > > > > , my friend who follows Cutler told me that Cutler doesn't > > believe b12 causes mercury methylation. Guest guest
OK, I'm coming in in the middle here. Why does it cause insomnia? I've been playing with chlorella and ever since I started I've felt awful! Insomnia, achy, tired. Someone said it was mobilizing more mercury than it was absorbing. I didn't know I had that much of the stuff. I've also felt like I was going to pass out lately. I'm trying to figure out what is going on, and if this is a " healing crisis " I should push on through or if I should stop! Maybe I should have left good enough alone - I felt great before I started messing with this stuff! I'd LOVE to hear what you think about this! ly, I feel like I'm out of my league with this stuff! > > > , my friend who follows Cutler told me that Cutler doesn't > > believe b12 causes mercury methylation. Guest guest
I noticed in my experience that anything that has the potential to move mercury can make you feel crummy if you use to much. When I first started using NDF, I used ONE drop. It didn't take too long to move up from there. Maybe if you start with ridiculously low amounts of chlorella it could help. Also one thing that helped me via the suggestion of a mercury expert was talking alka selzer gold. I would feel instantly better. I forgot the reasons why. Also Liverlife is something you could consider taking. It comes with explanation of how to measure your ph as it drains acids over time. Also one other thing that helped me was taking bone broth when I felt ill. > > > > > , my friend who follows Cutler told me that Cutler > doesn't > > > believe b12 causes mercury methylation. Guest guest
Thanks! The bone broth idea is great, I did make some and noticed it really hit the spot. I'll look into that other stuff too. With chlorella, they say if it makes you feel crummy to take even more, until there is enough to absorb what got released. I'd rather take more vitamin C, which won't stir up things even more, IMHO. > > > > > > > , my friend who follows Cutler told me that Cutler > > doesn't > > > > believe b12 causes mercury methylation. Guest guest
I don't know about that chlorella idea, it doesn't sound right somehow but if you are looking for a product that absorbs what got released, Waiora NCD (zeolite) is known for that. My experience with it was that it gave me no problems but of course as with anything, if you try it, start small. I don't use it anymore just b/c it's too expensive and I am primarily using NDF. People who use it with their autistic children swear by it but of course there are people who have used it that had bad experiences with it. Also remember the charcoal you recommended for me after I ate questionable sushi? That could be used as well. It's funny how I have used it for mercury detox but didn't think to use it when I ate something bad. I read a book on mercury detox that suggests it as another detox tool, taking it with psyllium. I like stuff like that, which is simple and inexpensive. > > > > > > > > > , my friend who follows Cutler told me that Cutler > > > doesn't > > > > > believe b12 causes mercury methylation. Guest guest
The pet store sells zeolite for $4 for a pint-sized carton. Do you think that's the same stuff? It's awfully expensive in the health food store. I know a guy who took huge amounts of it and it healed his tennis injury from 10 years ago. Suddenly after a week of pain there he got full range of motion again. Thanks for the charcoal recommendation. Hmmm. They sell that in the pet store too... LOL! I actually have been using psyllium and it has been helping some. I guess I need to do it more regularly, instead of only when I remember! I'm glad you survived your sushi experience. My husband found a quote somewhere he loves to quip: " Never eat half-price sushi " ! > > > > > > > > > > > , my friend who follows Cutler told me that > Cutler > > > > doesn't > > > > > > believe b12 causes mercury methylation.
