Guest guest
Hi i am wondering if one has systemic yeast how does Kefir and Kombucha affect it? Depending on which site and which diet one says using Kefir or other yeasty Ferments feed Candida. Others say it is a great weapon to add when fighting it - to eat the grains with the milk kefir for best results. So which is it yes to Femrents that have a lot of yeast or not? Also I am wondering about the diets that allow Fruit when fighting candida. The GAPS book is for leaky gut and she does say those with LG will most likely have yeast too. But she allows fruits. All of this stuff is confusing cause i do not know what i should do diet wise. We have been doing NT for a few yrs and it has not really alleviated anything and from what i hear it exacerbates a lot of issues for people because it has them consuming the foods they should not be like ferments when there is a yeast over growth. Looking at symptoms of yeast over growth is like looking at sytmptoms for all the ads for pharm meds, anyone fits that description. We mostly deal with allergy things. Not any known food ones but i am sure there is underlying ones. We have seasonal allergies and asthma, one child with sties that come and go. One with frequent feelings of urination with all tests coming back nothing is wrong, it is in their head. One memeber who deals with a lot of cysts that get infected in the under arm and groin area - like sebaeceous cysts. One with Psoriasis. Depending on seasons etc.. these things get better or worse. In sunny warm climates a lot of it goes away. In rainy seasons or cold winter etc... it may get worse. A couple with bad gas like my poor baby. Can't believe she makes sounds like that. I strictly BF. I have symptoms of Hypo and adrenal again they tell me in my head cause tests are fine. I know it all fits with bad flora too. But all these diets, BED, GAPS, Yeast, NT, etc... all say theirs is the one and each allows foods that are on the others do not eat list. I am confused and was hoping people on here who have healed themselves of similar things could shed some light on it all and give me some feedback. There is so much information, much of it contradictory. I haven't read the BED or GAPS yet, but have been walking around for a few days trying to decide what the best thing to do is, because EFLF was making me gain weight (probably the milk) and I think that's due to candida. So here's what I've started to think I should do for myself: 1) clean up the candida first 2) then do EFLF, which " strengthens " the thyroid 3) if still outstanding issues, further explore thyroid possibilities and supplements 4) once those things are healed, go standard NT Seems like it will take forever, but it's been years getting things so out of balance, I can't expect things to be fixed overnight I guess. I'm not going to read GAPS or BED yet, I'm going to try this: http://nourishedmagazine.com.au/blog/articles/how-to-overcome-candida-pt2 It was posted on the discussingNT list, and seems like a good way to get started. I've been watching some videos by the GAPS/BED people and those are pretty fascinating, but I don't want to further confuse myself. I figure there's enough basic info there at that link, and it works with the EFLF and NT. Anyway, this is actually not an answer to your question!! Just my own way of trying to sort through the same issues you are having. I'm definitely interested to know what advice others might offer you!! Good luck! Guest guest
Different people seem to be helped by different methods. I have candida issues and don't tolerate kombucha at all although I love it. I also have tried many diets, GF/CF, SCD and various candida diets. The only one that seems to be working for me is this one. I have only been on it a few months. So time will tell. http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/ But it is pretty extreme. Unfortunately you just have to try stuff and see what works best for you.
