Guest guest
<I apologies to and Mark for saying Mark was lying on this. I should have checked my facts before making such a provocative statement.> I accept your apology about this Steve, and am glad to see that you are not a totally unrelenting person attacking people and calling them liars. Interesting that nobody caught this as you stated they would....I did.....and chose not to mention it to you, until you spoke up about other things. Yes the studies use the same wording which was misinterpreted, and corrections were made by the IMVA and acknowledged fully. I believe you were thanked for pointing out this error, too. As to the issue of " trust " . This is a tough one to address. I cannot make you trust me, anymore than I can make the man in the moon trust me. Nor can I trust easily. With continued communication, appreciation for efforts and knowledge, recognition and acceptance of faults and deficiencies comes trust. Name calling and accusations do not. Sometimes trust comes intuitively. And sometimes we are wrong about who we trust. For example, take silenced MD's. I have a lot of personal experience and professional experience, where MD's supposedly better trained in their fields, causing harm and damage to myself and others. As an RN I have been greatly offended that some have such a lacking of knowledge or caring for the effects of treatments and medications. Yet we are " trained " ourselves to trust our doctors implicitly. Often they are dead wrong. So are the scientist, medical journals, drug companies, for various and usually " profitable to them reasons " . Much of the neutraceutical industry goes the same way. For example, did you know that many calcium supplements are being found to contain lead? Most won't say so, you have to search it out. And pay for the info on top of it. Reference provided if you ask. If you want to carry on more conversation about this, and my experiences, motivation, wish to help children, I will be happy to do so but perhaps it should be offlist because a great deal of my motivation does not come from concern about autism alone. Feel free to email me. Part of my motivation comes from a longstanding problem with traditional medical care, my concern for rising rates of diabetes in children, the effects of drugs used for autistic children that might cause diabetes, (antipsychotics), and the similarities I've seen and been part of in both communities, diabetes and autism, in attempting to get good care, good treatment and hold people accountable for their actions. I believe the least harmful treatments first, and because of the lies and cover-ups I have seen go on in major corporations that influence what we believe and practice today. I have been harmed by prescribed drugs, including insulin, fought against this in many ways over many years, and well...there's more. As an RN, I have been damaged by mercury containing vaccines, and other sources of mercury...so have my children, though none are autistic...but I see a double whammy coming from our family's problem with diabetes, and traditional medical thinking on vaccines, and denial of mercury as a cause of many illnesses. I work with autistic children, and do not like what I see happening there!! So my interest and motivation is greater than just what goes on in this group and comes from a variety of experiences. As to some of your other comments about the questions still not answered, first let me say that I do not wish to be the middle man here for Mark's personal responses to this group, since Mark has been banned. And I object to this banning. This is not fair to him or to me. I will answer for myself when I can. And I am in no way financially tied to the IMVA, Mark, or the products recommended. Nor am I financially connected with anything in the diabetes industry. Now, with that said, back to your questions again posed to me and Mark about honesty and integrity. I do my best with those, but we are all human aren't we? All fallible in some ways. Character annihilation is cruel and unjust when we are faced with comments like calling someone a liar, ot like others do, with demeaning name substitutions. I don't believe in this , not at all. [ ] correction was correct when she said I cited the wrong study re blood brain barrier permeability. The authors seem to have done several studies in this area. I apologise to and Mark for saying Mark was lying on this. I should have checked my facts before making such a provocative statement. I also accept 's point that I can be fallible just as Mark can. This certainly proves that point. But I recently acknowledged as much when i]I posted recently that my understanding of the role of omega 6s and 3s had changed over the years and had been wrong when I argued over this issue with Andy about 2.5 years ago. I am just a parent and have never claimed any expertise, nor do I conclude my postings with spurious initials after my name. In addition the key issue was the interpretation of the word " attenuate " and the fact stands that Mark's interpretation of the study was wrong and he showed a poor understanding of the blood brain barrier, which is a central issue to the treatment of autism. I stand by my assertion that his throws into doubt his qualifications and expertise and raises questions of whether he is making it up as he goes along. I also stand by my other assertions over Mark's and 's honesty and integrity and whetehr they genuinely care about autistic kids. The 3 questions I posed at the end of my last post to go to the heart of this, and they really need answering. I have nothing more to say on this topic.
