Guest guest
Hi Alice, I just heard it last night on one of the audios. What i am wondering then is what about the veggie juicing. It is so important to the GAPS diet for detox i wonder how this affects yeast. I thought on anti yeast diets carrots are not allowed either. There is no way we could drink greens only. My kids would riot So i am wondering if we could still juice as normal and eliminate all the other fruits we would have eaten - like snacks between meals. We usually use several leaves of green or red lettuce (or swiss chard, spinache etc), a tomatoe, a zuchinni, a couple pounds of carrots at least, to 4 apples or 2 pears/2apples. It makes enough for 2 servings for all 5 of us (3 kids, 2 adults) with a bit left over. I am wondering how much sugar in there may be feeding the candida or are they not as bad as we think because they are the single (?) molecule sugar - as she explains in the book. Also the other anti cand. diets say no nuts, where this allows nut flours etc... So would i cut out the nuts too for the first few weeks. So would GAPS then be no fruit no nuts, just meat and veggies for the first several weeks, if so what about detox? She is quite adamant that detox needs to take place to relieve the gut of distress. > --------- > She says that if the candida is a big problem, then no sweet things at all > for a while. > > That seems easier said than done to me though, since there is already so > little in the basic GAPS diet. > Take care, > Alice - HSing mom to Alice (w/DS) born Thanksgiving Day 1995 :-) > Hopewell Junction, NY http://www.frontiernet.net/~castella/ >
