Guest guest
interesting... i also found this article a while back. i've been in a long time debate with myself about roasted vs. soaked and dried nuts. if taste is the ultimate guide to nutrition...then? http://www.monkeymatters.com/articles/nuts/nuts02.htm " How do monkeys respond to soaked nuts? If fed alone, many species, including macaque, squirrel, spider, capuchin, patas and guenon, have eaten soaked nuts of all kinds without hesitation. Just don’t offer soaked nuts side by side with roasted nuts, since monkeys usually do prefer the richer flavor of the nutritionally inferior roasted nut. " sabine. Guest guest
You've got me experimenting on my daughter's rats again! They prefer cooked foods too. They go nuts over mashed potatoes! Maybe because it's more digestible?? How do they measure nutrition - I'm wondering if things that seem more nutritious aren't if the nutrients are locked in bits the body can't break down to get access to them. Like you cook grains they get all mushy and easy to digest while whole raw grains would probably just pass on through whole. > > interesting... > i also found this article a while back. i've been in a long time debate with myself about roasted vs. soaked and dried nuts. if taste is the ultimate guide to nutrition...then? > > http://www.monkeymatters.com/articles/nuts/nuts02.htm > > " How do monkeys respond to soaked nuts?
