Are you sure that it isn't an ingrown hair or anything? I've had a few

of those where my whole armpit is sort of sore/ swollen, but once I get

the hair out, it all goes away quickly. It also might just be a sore

muscle, but that fact that your skin is getting red makes me think some

kind of infection or irritation.

If you're a woman, it could possibly be breast tissue. I had a lump in

my armpit that would swell up and be painful, then subside. This

happened for several months and I finally went to the doc, who put me

on two rounds of antibiotics which didn't do a blessed thing to the

lump. Finally he sent me to a surgeon to have it removed, who, bless

his heart, removed it in his office since I didn't have insurance and

he wanted to spare me the cost of hospital fees, where he normally did

such procedures.

When the lab results came back, he told me he was really surprised, as

it turned out to be breast tissue. Evidently, in some women, there can

be breast tissue all along the torso from the arm pits to the groin.

This tissue was responding to monthly hormonal changes just like one's

breasts do. It was harmless, but we didn't know that until it was

removed and looked at in the lab.

I'd keep a close eye on it and take note if there are any changes and

when, during your monthly cycle. If wouldn't hurt to get it checked out

if it doesn't go away, insurance or no insurance. There are some things

we need a doctor's help for.

In the meantime, load up on natural antibiotics: garlic, echinacea,

oregano, coconut oil, etc., in case it is an infection.

What kind of deoderant are you using? My armpits started getting

swollen, sore, and had painful bumps from my deoderant. I've had to

quit using it, switched to either Lugol's iodine or that crystal

thingie which work OK. It seems to be a permanent allergy/reaction

because I tried several months ago and got the same reaction.

You have a lot of lymph nodes in there, it could be a reaction to

something somewhere down along your arm. Sometimes the lymph nodes

just get clogged, too and you never find out why. It can hurt.

Well I ended up going to Primacare & they gave me antibiotics to take

for 10 days. The doctor said she felt a small bump when she pressed on

it, & it hurt when she pressed on it. After the antibiotics the pain

went away but the swelling is still there. I don't know why it's still

swollen. She said they could lance it, but that scares me because what

if it's not an infection. I don't want them cutting my armpit without

knowing for sure that it's an infection. I have an appointment on

Monday with my general practitioner to see what she thinks. I just hope

she doesn't say the same thing. It's weird because the swollen part of

my armpit isn't really where the bump was. I never felt a bump in the

first place. I was wearing natural deodorant at the time(now I'm not

wearing any). I don't see any ingrown hairs either. It's basically just

swollen & won't go away. Any ideas on what it could be?

I'm not trying to scare you or anybody else, but this is how it started for

my friend that had MRSA. It started with a swollen spot under her arm pit

the Monday before Thanksgiving, 2007. She did not return to work until March

15, 2008. Her story is a real horror story. She ended up having to go to a

wound care facility Mon, Wed, and Friday for treatment.

I got some kind of lump under my arm. I don't know what it was, but I

steamed with as hot water as I could stand, it came to a head, and I

squeezed it. As soon as it started, I started taking colloidal silver

orally. After it was open, I treated it with topical CS and continued to

oral CS until after it was gone. It went away after a few days of religious

treatment. It probably was not what my friend had, or what you had.

Please take this seriously.

When I had one, grapefruit seed extract seemed to help, but I think it

also likely that my sluggish lymph system factored in- low grade

inflammation in one system of the body can increase the likelihood of

infection in the surrounding area, in the same or contiguous system.

This is definitely a situation where non-allopathic medicine could really

have helped instead of rushing to an antibiotic, but in this economic

climate it's hard not to go with what's covered by insurance. The last

conventional antibiotic I took 5 years ago sent me on a yeast spiral. . .

..good luck.
