Waiver of co-payment legality

I was wondering what the legal ramifications would be to waiving a

co-payment as a " Professional Courtesy " . This would be on a

non-medicare patient. At this site:

It seems to allow it. If they have an HMO I may need to notify them in

writing though.

Any one know of the spcifics for this in New York?
