Guest guest
That's it...some of you may remember me ranting about the HFS price of raw milk ($15 per gal.) The farmer/pioneer in me says if I owned the cow I could sell the excess, and have my own free range beef in a few years down the line. If I can sell the extra and there is a demand I would love to build up a herd. I super excited to say that I found a lady closeby who is willing to mentor me in dairy farming and to sell me a Guernsey calf. We are going to look at a property on Saturday. My dh is all for it if we can turn a profit, it may take a few years, but I believe it can be done. As far as I can tell NO ONE is raising grassfed beef in Southern California which is a total shame because there is plenty of sunshine to help the grass grow. I can't seem to find a source for raw milk other than the healthfood store either. Please email me off list if you are in the Inland Empire Area and would be interested in buying raw milk for less than the HFSs. adorablemama@...
