Guest guest
My friend got a home energy audit and found his home was leaking like a sieve, so he hired the company to caulk the home and do some other stuff. He was really impressed with the changes - blower door tests before and after and is talking it up. But he said they went around spraying foam and I'm wondering about off-gassing from that. What do you know? I'm guessing pure silicone is pretty safe stuff, but that's not what is usually used - most expensive of the caulks. And I don't know about the foam at all - does it offgas formaldehyde or other stuff?? I'd love to caulk up the house and keep the moist air from growing mold in the walls, but don't want to find out later I used the wrong stuff!
