Work Comp Billing

Hi Group,

Recently we have had 2 requests by work comp patients for copies of the

billing statement that we send to the insurance company. Can anyone

tell me whether this is legal in the state of Florida. Or is it based

on our contract with the individual work comp carrier? The legal

department at 1 work comp company stated that it is strictly forbidden

for us to release that information directly to the patient and that it

needed to go through the adjustor. The work comp company explained that

this prevents " double diping " by the patient.

Does anyone know if there is state law regarding this issue.

Thank You in advance
