When I went to bartending school the teacher explained the more

muscle to fat you have, the more the alcohol makes your muscles

ache. The effect is pronounced because you drink infrequently.

You're probably in good physical shape!

Look at water and salt balance; usually the first thing to check re.

cramps. Especially relevant since it occurs more in the summer.(you

lose more water and salt in hot weather). If you

are not getting enough salt in your diet, your cells won't be able to

absorb enough water.Try a pinch of salt in a glass of water about three

times a day, plus add it to your food to taste. You'll probably need

to drink a few more glasses of plain water too.

NB; only use unrefined sea salt or himalayan crystal salt.( See NT book)

I've always heard that alcohol leaches all minerals out through the urine, not

just magnesium. But definitely a lack of magnesium and calcium can cause muscle

cramps. These are the minerals needed for contraction and expansion.
