Guest guest
Kathi, In reference to the cap.? A big issue here-NY, at least around us, is the physician owned facilities and non PT owned offices.? I feel confident that if this wasn't?the case their wouldn't have to?be a cap.? There is signifiant overuse of non-PT entities when it comes to Medicare (and the issue is larger than us).? The right target is the removal of the cap and then the non-PT providers.? I realize that we're talking about fraudulent coding (which?shouldn't be done across the board), but the cap is a, I?believe, draws the issue to?non-PT providers that?require our legislative push?to eliminate and I wanted to make sure that this point was heard.? Vinod Somareddy, DPT? One on One therapy While we are at it can we clarify for the group that 1:1 CPT codes and the manner at which they are managed apply to the LTC settings as well. I am hearing of PT/PTA seeing 22 patients in a day and charging 70 minutes of 1:1 therapy. Now unless somewhere we changed from 24 hours in a day to 25.6 i'm not seeing how this is possible. And we wonder why Medicare wants a cap. Please correct me if I am wrong. Kathi Lee PT Carson City MI
