Guest guest
My dad has high cholestrol and my granfather has just had a triple bypass and he is only 70. I just started eating the WAPF way and I have no idea what to tell them. I tell them what I eat and the freak out at the thought of it. THey are both overweight and how do I say this without stepping on toes. All the the people I know around here who eat the WAPF way are overweight as well. So they see that. Know what I mean? How do I explain in simple terms about good fats bad fats and being able to lose weight and get good cholestrol levels without clogging the arteries eating the way I do. They both have asked me if I had my cholestrol tested. I haven't yet and I am wondering. I have some of my own health issues going on and they see that. But I am in the process of restoring my health. At least trying too. They think its great I started this adventure but they think I am nuts and don't believe me when I say YES it works!! Just trust me. I am not quite sure how to explain. I still don't understand the process myself especially since many of the people if not all I know that eat wap way are not just slightly overweight they are indeed overweight. I have the opposite problem and since I started eating this way I have LOST weight unfortanutely as I am pregnant and was already underweight when I started the WAPF diet. So I know you can lose weight somehow on it. I think because I cut out all my carbs since I am not as hungry anymore. I don't eat much breads, sugar or things high carb. Eating is a pain to me and so I just try and eat something that will fill me up quickly and long time so I don't have to be back in the kitchen again too soon. Any good SIMPLE ideas I could share? My dad is not a researcher or reader neither is my grandpa but I know they will listen to me if I have a logical explanation based on facts that are short. ) My dad is a drinker and so perhaps that is why his cholestrol is high? and he is very overweight. He is under the assumption he has to have margarine type butters, skim milk, etc. He doesn't always hold to that but he thinks that is best. My grandpa just had his surgery 3 weeks ago and already eating crap foods again because he simiply doesn't understand. I know there is more then just explaining it in a short way but any good ideas here. Thanks so much, MIchelle
