SPIRITUALITY yoga and vegetarianism...

lol. i guess for me there is yoga confined within

hindu temples and formal schools of thought and then

yoga that many do at the gyms and in places where it

feels quite removed from ashrams and the sort. many

christians do yoga without focus on the religious

elements of it.

i guess also i don't see the need to flag it religion,

especially in bold. i guess because the tag seems like

an insult somehow often times. ie. somehow like people

want to degrade it or something. also, religion often

times is something practiced in a church through

community, orthodox, etc... i was referring to various

practices which could lead to that. so maybe

spirituality would be the tag, which i would not take

issue with.

i think many have been abused by orthodox groups

advocating without contemplation one method or another

because someone said. ie. jews not eating pork or

shellfish because their holy books say, which was not

what i was discussing nor advocating. i wasn't even

advocating yoga necessarily. i wouldn't put christian

mystics necessarily in the category of religion.

i wonder what the intent of 'religion' as a tag is

from the person who called it that. is it somehow to

prevent offense? is there a group recommendation about

calling anything spiritual religion? in my case, i was

in fact not even commenting on it being more

'spiritual' or not to eat meat or not. i just

commented on my experience within that system. i

actually eat meat personally on occasion, and in spite

of my exploration of yogic studies i don't idealize

vegetarianism at this point. i didn't quote any texts.

i don't know, perhaps my issue around it all, but

perhaps more than just mine. i don't go imposing tags

called 'PARENTING' on others' posts or HEALTHCARE.

yoga seems a fine tag to me. if people don't want to

talk about it or read it then don't. they can choose

how they file it for themselves, but to add RELIGION

to it, at least to me seems like some sort of negative

connotation imposed from someone's issue which maybe

is what should be examined here.

maybe every other post is put into neat little boxes

based on someone else's filing system already and

maybe i just missed that intro email. it irritates me

to see someone impose their view on my post. it would

seem i should be able to tag it, and how i tagged it

was in no way deceitful as far as i can tell.
