Guest guest
This story was in this month's Mother Earth News: http://www.motherearthnews.com/Organic-Gardening/2008-10- 01/Aminopyralid-Garden-Threat.aspx (or http://tinyurl.com/45pt28 ) Dow Chemical's weed killer, aminopyralid, aka " Milestone " and " Forefront " doesn't break down in manure or compost (half-life is 533 days) and kills off garden vegetables when manure, compost, or straw from fields where it has been applied is used in the garden. Evidently it's devastated thousands of home gardens in Great Britain and now is being used here. To avoid this threat, you're supposed to ask if " Milestone " or " Forefront " have been used in fields where the animals have grazed or the straw was cut. Here's the story from an angry British blogger: http://silvercharming.blogspot.com/2008/07/aminopyralid-theres-muck- in-muck.html (or http://tinyurl.com/3ne86j ) --
