Guest guest
I have a health food store in PA and we sell raw milk. Regs are regs, so I wouldnt call what they did harassment per se. We just started selling raw milk lately, so maybe we're still under the radar, but we haven't had any issues so far. I talked to my farmer because I was wondering if he had any issues with the Dept of Ag, but he said no problems at all. They have a bottling unit so everything is sterile, so not sure if that is an issue with some of these farms that sell it right from the farm and milk the traditional way. Buddy -- Buddy A. Guest guest
No, this was a new issue re: the label didn't have specific warnings on it. It now reads " *Raw milk has not been pasteurized to remove pathogens that cause illness. The consumption of raw milk may increase the risk of food borne illness in persons who consume it - especially in highly susceptible populations such as infants, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems.* " > > > I get my raw milk at Kimberton Whole Foods (not affiliated with Whole > > Foods stores) and today there was none - I asked about it and the > > health dept. guy came in and made them pull all the milk off the > > shelves because each jug did not have a warning lable on it (there was > > a sign in the store near the raw milk that had the warning instead). > > It was really just an inconvenience and the farm (Camphill Village - > > cool place!) already had new labels on some of the milk that was being > > sold at a different store. > > > > Just wanted people to know tho, because this is just weeks after the > > Hendricks dairy had a problem - some of their customers got sick and > > the health dept. leaked to the press that the milk was bad, stories > > were on the news all over the state (PA) and it turned out all milk > > samples were negative, so it was a false alarm.
