Guest guest
Connett, a very engaging speaker will probably come out to you to speak to a group if you can raise his airfare and put him up somewhere (when he came here he stayed with friends). He's the founder (with his son ) of Fluoride Action Network, an antifluoridation group. Their website is www.fluoridealert.org/ He's also in the film " The Fluoride Deception " - that pretty much sums up Bryson's book of the same name. You can see it here: video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7319752042352089988 and you can order it from FAN to show in your community. Maybe in area churches or township buildings or get some environmentalists involved. We had the film then a discussion led by Connett, which was covered in the press and had a lot of activists involved who went on to write op eds for the local papers. There's also a woman in Oregon, I believe, who wrote an expose of fluoridation for the local papers saying it was very corrosive and led to equipment failure and water leaks in underground pipes. In your water-starved area that may be of more interest. A local group here fought mandatory water fluoridation state-wide by exposing that it is from smokestack scrubbers - essentially industrial waste, and not a food-grade or pharmacy-grade additive. So they pushed in a counter-law that any nutritional additives to water must be pharmaceutical-grade. Neither bill passed but the one scared the support off of the fluoridation one. It would be prohibitively expensive to put pharmacy-grade fluoride in the water, and then the question arises, why don't dentists just prescribe it to their patients? Perhaps some good questions at meetings where officials are present - like " where is the fluoride coming from? " " Is it pure, pharmaceutical-grade? " " What are the studies of the cost of the equipment failing sooner and the water lost to underground leaks? " " Will it be tested for the common impurities of arsenic and radioactive compounds? " " Will the water dept. staff who are going to have to add it be trained in safety and the danger of handling the fluoride? " You can also share your findings with the local water companies who will have to deal with it. Here they weren't allowed to take sides in the issue, but I think the information I was supplying may have had some influence. Don't put much effort into approaching dentists - the ones here were thoroughly brainwashed. I tried lots of angles and after awhile the state organization told them not to talk about it. There are studies in old journals of how many children's teeth get permanently stained at different levels of fluoridation and at higher levels how many of them get soft, easily chipped teeth. Those levels aren't much higher than the " safe " level. > > Alot of folks here have " professional " accreditations to your name > and can join in on this international petition.
