Guest guest
Dianne . . . What are you doing diet-wise? . . . Have you communicated with Sue Gibbens, (UK)? . . . She's seeing a doctor who is helping her immensely with dizziness. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Dianne, I have had vertigo off and on since first getting implants. I am two years post explant and I still get it sometimes. It comes back every so often when I get too stressed. It definitely sucks. It should disappate with time and a lot of rest. If it really is horrible you can take Meclizine and/or Valium to cope. Guest guest
Aha, the plot thickens-- the dizziness started after the wisdom tooth extraction! Sounds like your inner ear was stimulated by the trauma-- it is very close to your teeth, and it is not uncommon for people to get vertigo as a complication of dental problems. I would guess it will go away as you heal. Make sure you don't have an infection. Bindi

Guest guest
i have a friend who has been complaining of vertigo for a few weeks and i wondered if anyone knew of anything i could tell her to do. she said one day she couldn't even get out of bed b/c the room was spinning. she also said it was like having a constant hangover without the alcohol. any thoughts? thanks, amanda
Guest guest
Babesia, a tick-borne infection can cause it. I don't know what other critters carry it, it's a common co-infection of lyme disease, and treated with anti-malarials, quinine, or artemisinin. So maybe a gin-and-tonic would help in this case. I used to get it, it's an odd feeling. The artemisinin cleared it right up with no further problems. --- In , " " <amanda@...> wrote: > > > i have a friend who has been complaining of vertigo for a few weeks and i wondered if anyone knew of anything i could tell her to do. she said one day she couldn't even get out of bed b/c the room was spinning. she also said it was like having a constant hangover without the alcohol. any thoughts? > > thanks, amanda > >

The ctds lady mentions it http://www.ctds.info/vert-treat.html and even md's: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/magnesium-deficiency/AN01191 just google vertigo and magnesium deficiency. . . . Guest guest
Point of message is my specialist told me to NOT eat salt when I had vertico from ear infection. Salt collects fluid and increases pressure. The reasons for below: I got vertigo from a bad ear infection. Didn't feel the ear infection after the vertigo started, but it was so bad I would be nauseous with any movement and noise was like being under deep water. PS: Prednisone can create water logging, pressure so they aren't supposed to have salt with it. Long time use here - I am asthmatic and sometimes prednisone, as bad as that medicine is will be the only thing that stands between me and eternity. Guest guest
I have had vertigo so bad that not only did I have hold on to the walls to walk down the halls but I've been so dizzy that it made me upchuck. I went to see an ear nose and throat Dr. and they said it was maneers disease. I haven't had any problem after I was dx with RA. I hope it goes away for you as it did for me. I remember how miserable vertigo was. Hang in there. .....Randy..... Guest guest
I struggled for over a year with horrific vertigo- first they thought it was Mennierre's disease, did all kinds fo tests- mri's etc, then they thought it was a tumor, - i was hospitalized once it got so bad- had to take valium, meclizine, etc to function, finally they were going to severe the nerve to my ear to try to stop it- of course i'd be deaf but a small price to pay to be able to not worry every day if i'd be on the floor sick as a dog just out of the blue- BUT then i got another opinion- and ear nose & throat specialist in chicago did the " goggle test " and found I had Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo- the little crystals in the ear can get messed up and throw off your whole system- anyway all i ahve had to do since then is head tilting exercises twice a day every day and have not ahd one single episode since the day i walked out of her office! no meds anymore for that either! http://www.emedicinehealth.com/benign_positional_vertigo/article_em.htm http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/vertigo/DS00534 Best of luck- I can certainly relate!! Beth > > Anyone else get terrible dizziness? I had to stay in bed all day because I was so dizzy and would have to hold on to the wall to walk to the bathroom. Feeling a little better today but that was awful. I don't have any sinus issues at the moment and my blood pressure was fine. > > >
Guest guest
Thank you all for your responses. I hope I never have it again because it was terrible. Maybe I had some sort of virus because my stomach doesn't feel right since it happened. Who knows. All I know is it was awful. I did stop the Minocin this week just to be on the safe side and will see what happens next week when I restart it. However, I have been on it for several weeks now and never had the problem in the weeks prior.
