We use TheraOffice and love it! We carry laptops in stands.

Re: Computerized Documentation

Tim,

We used TheraWriter in our clinics for several years. It is

distributed by Hands on Technology, Inc. It is a good system and you

don't have to purchase the software. You just lease it per month per

therapist. It can be used on a desktop or will connect wirelessly via

a pocket pc or a tablet notebook computer. We used the pocket pc for

awhile, but the screen is too small for those of us who have crossed

the 40 y/o stage in life. It would just depend on your clinic and how

it is set up. Another problem with the pocket pcs is that they are

pretty expensive and the manufacturers really don't warranty them very

well. If you break one, it cannot be replaced.

Good luck

I use Redoc and it is great as well. The documentation

is very time efficient. It defaults the previous

visits info to the new visit you open so all you do is

revise some of the info. The info for the daily notes

also default the recerts and discharges as well so you

modify some info but the recert or discharge is

already half done. The program also generates a plan

of care or 700 form based on you evals and recerts. It

also cues the appropriate modifiers for billing as

well as cues you when a patient's re-cert date is due.

The program has productivity reports such as units per

day etc. You pay a fee for each therapist whom you

will list as users for the program (around $1500

each). Annual maintenance is $750 for each therapist,

but this is only if you plan to use tech support. You

can function fully on this system with no tech

support, so basically, after the initial setup fees,

its free. Great program.
