In the year 2003, the founder of KNP+ Mr. K.Radhakrishnan,

discovered his positive status while he was in the industrial

field. He started attending support group meetings organized by

other PLHAs, later motivated to work on a part time basis as a

counsellor for INP+. He was inspired by other PLHA leaders for Tamil

Nadu to start a district level network at this home town, which is

Kancheepuram district. Thus, started with 17 members and now the

member ship has reached 531. Within a span of two years they were

able to initiate two care and support projects [TNFCC and ACT

project funded by TANSACS and INP+] that provided varied services to

PLHA within the district.

We need a full capable and experienced person in NGO field for

coordinating the staff and the project and Chiled Counselor.

Program Coordinator,

Major DutiesOverall coordination of all the activities of the TNFCC

program at the field / district level.

1. Provides clear and strong leadership to the team members

2. Develops, motivates and delegates responsibility and monitors the

activities of team members

3. Recognizes critical and challenging situations in implementing the

program goals and objectives and providing appropriate solutions

to address these situations.

4. Networking with various agencies (government and non government)

to optimize resource mobilization.

5. Spend 70% of the work time on the field in facilitating the

program staff in conducting their activities, identifying

resource team, networking, monitoring and coordinating with the

various stake holders of the program.

Areas of Responsibilities,

1. Overall coordination of field program delivery services

2. Assistance in ongoing Staff hiring and training, retaining of

program staff.

3. Coordination of training with TA team and clinical team (staff at

the hospital NGO, clinical teams and district NGO / GO officials )

4. Assistance with accounting and financial aspects of the project,

conducting monthly budget and expenditure assessment.

5. Communication with various partners.

6. Supervision of maintenance of registers, files and records of

every program delivery component.

7. Ensures regular documentation of programs, review the daily diary

of out reach workers and Field child counselor.

8. To facilitate and organize capacity building of caregivers, peer

educators and Support groups.

9. Monthly report preparation – MTR / MFR and case study / success

stories and submission of reports on time. i.e. by 5th of every

month.

10.Facilitate and organize the district level NGO coordination

meetings to be held every quarter and facilitate and organize

Project advisory committee meeting to be held once in six months

11.Facilitate and organize the children's skill building camps to be

held once in six months covering children infected and affected

by AIDS.

12.Supervision of travel documents of all field staff.

13.Liaison with all GO /NGO official with the respective districts

where the program operates.

14.Liaison with hospital coordinator, clinical and non clinical

team.

15.To maintain and document monthly planning and review of program

activities and communicate the same to the Hospital site.

16.To conduct on going training of staff to enhance their effective

performance in delivering services to clients and their

families.

Qualification.

The candidate should be a post graduate in social sciences or

development management with a minimum of 3 years in the field of

HIV/ AIDS with specific focus on care, support and treatment

issues.

Experience in project management / coordination.Community health

knowledge and experience in capacity building and training.

Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills. Team building

skills and coordinating a large team and its activities.

Field Child Counselor.

Major Duties,

Provision of Psychosocial support to families of People living with

HIV/AIDS with special focus on children living within the neediest

block of district.

Areas of Responsibilities,

1. Initial screening and profiling of children infected and affected

by HIV/AIDS within the block and later the district.

2. Documenting the psychosocial, medical and educational needs of

children infected and affected by HIV.

3. Strengthening family capacity in terms of home based care,

preparing low cost nutrition and linking to livelihood sources.

4. Enables clients in facilitating disclosure to children and other

family members.

5. Facilitate and organize recreation and Life skills education to

children infected and affected by HIV.

6. Treatment preparedness and literacy of children infected by

HIV/AIDS.

7. Provide Adherence counseling for clients and their families.

8. Responsible for enhancing the knowledge and skills of out reach

workers on lay counseling.

9. Facilitates fortnightly case reviews with the other field staff

10.Counsels patient on importance of follow-up and house visits by

field staff.

11.Performs regular home visits to clients and assist out reach

workers in conducting effective and comprehensive home visits.

12.Referrals to varied social services and activities and tracking

referrals.

13.Liaison with hospital counselors in information sharing.

14.Assist PCO in Case reporting and monthly reporting.

15.Training ORWs on Community Education.

16.Training of caregivers and peer educators during field visits.

17.Proper documentation and data collection of all child centered

activities on a daily basis and updating all the patient details

in the register and computer.

Qualification.

The candidate should be a post graduate in social sciences / social

work/ M.Sc psychology.

With a minimum of 3 years work experience with children and child

centric issues.

Experience in documentation of case study, assessing psychosocial

needs of children infected and affected by HIV.

Orientation on Life skills education and non formal education of

children in the age group of 9 to 18 years.
