I thought he was some kind of Christian A Messianic Jew is a Jew who believes that Jesus is the Messiah that other Jews still look for. So, he is a Christian Jew. said: dietary restrictions which are religious in nature are not based on science Some people now understand the science behind God's laws and that the purpose of the dietary law was not to keep us from eating good food, but to protect us. Just as other laws are not to keep us from doing fun things, but to protect us. He's Jewish? Interesting; I thought he was some kind of Christian what with all the bible stuff. But regardless, he could be a Zoroastrian and I'd say the same thing if he were basing his dietary recommendations on the teachings of Zoroaster -- dietary restrictions which are religious in nature are not based on science and therefore shouldn't be considered reason to avoid foods if you only care about nutrition and health. -
