Guest guest
Sorry it's taken me SO long to post an update! I've read all your responses and really appreciated each one. I've been off my medication now for thirteen days. So far, it's been fine, save some serious dizziness and withdrawal from the medication itself. Here's what I've been doing so far, just in case it might help anyone else. I should say that I got a vitamin D test that showed I was deficient before beginning this protocol, which I suspected since I often get seasonal affective disorder. -- I went gluten and sugar free. This helped immediately in the case of sugar and after about a week or two with gluten. I've done two trials, one adding gluten and sugar back (that was terrible and I felt very out of control for about 48 hours) and one adding sugar back (that was better, but still no picnic, and I only felt bad for about 16 hours). -- I take a B complex, three tablespoons of CLO, 4,000 IU of D3, and a cal/mag supplement each day -- I exercise for at least half an hour a day -- I rest more- I have a one year old, so if she keeps me up at night, we nap together during the day. -- I don't watch any news, frightening/suspenseful television, etc. I basically live in a bubble, which is really hard for me since normally, I'm a news hound. Since changing all this, I've been calmer. My ADD is better, my speech is better (I have oddly halting speech because I physically can't get the words out- very strange), I feel healthier and have more energy, my skin is clearer, and my life seems more in control. Thanks to all of you for some really great advice! I really appreciate it and hope that I can return the favor some day. If anyone has any other suggestions or questions/comments about what I'm doing, I'd LOVE to hear them. Positive or negative, feedback has really helped me through this process. Also, if it's giving you a lot of bloating or gas suspect candida - Vitamin C and candida don't mix. I got rid of my candida/bloating using unpasturized sauerkraut and kimchi taken daily. Sodium lactate, made when salt and lactic acid are together is supposed to be pretty strongly anti-candida. So I'd guess any salt-lactofermented foods would be good. Sour pickles, etc. if you can find them salt- fermented. > > > > > > I just want to throw this into the mix. If you have depression, it > > is worth getting tested for Lyme disease.
