Guest guest
I have found that you only get as good data as is entered and having consistency of procedures is critical. I have just returned to the Small Business Development Center in my area to have a fiscal check up, where they take QuickBooks data, and compare it to similar practice across the country. Very interesting and valuable data. But the data must be organized and consistent in order to get the financials that are helpful. (I.E.: is my payroll an appropriate amount of our income? Is my front desk to clinician ratio high, low or WNL compared to national standards? Etc) For example: you order a bunch of clinic supplies that last you about 6 months or so. It will make your income drop that month, unless it is factored in over 6 months as an expenditure....and tons of other details. So bottom line, look not only at price, but how data is organized consistently. I have learned you can get a monkey to enter data and pay checks and you end up with financial reports that are not valid. Good luck! We are looking to bring our bookkeeping in-house from an outsourced service and we are not sure what kind of hourly rate we should expect to pay. The employee we are looking at hiring will be part-time and require no benefits. Most of the duties will be paying bills and coordinating the books with our accountants. Any input is appreciated.
