Guest guest
Dear All, In Chhattisgarh State the agency that has been given the responsibility to fight against HIV/AIDS namely Chhattisgarh SACS is in a state of great confusion. In this state, may be somewhere the whole idea behind the starting the AIDS Control Programme has been lost. The staff of SACS are supposed to be managing funds to the tune of crores and also protect the lives of crores of people. But, if the same staff do not have job security for last one year, then do we think they will be able to perform or do any work. The current staff in Chhattisgarh SACS allegedly does not have a written appointment letter since last one year. They are all going to work but it is said that there are no attendance registers. The concern here is not what SACS is doing. But the concern is that if these group of people, who are doing this herculean task of AIDS prevention in the state, do not have the simple luxury of a secured job, then do we think merely spending money on advertisements will help in prevention of HIV. We are sure that many other SACS would have issues like this. We all just need to sit and think that where are we going with all this. May be we are not walking, but running towards a stage when we all some many deaths due to HIV that there would be no place to burn the bodies. And at that point the whole burden of those deaths will on the SACS. Regards CGAIDSGroup e-mail: <cgaidsgroup@...>
