The World Bank Institute and the India International Center would like to

invite you to the screening of Kaalchakra, a two hour feature film on HIV/AIDS.

" Kaalchakra " or " Circle of Life " is the story of a successful businessman at the

peak of his career who is diagnosed with HIV. The film empathetically

illustrates the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and touches upon preventive and

medical aspects of the disease.

Geared towards the general public, the film projects a positive and hopeful

image for HIV/AIDS patients.

The film has been produced by Avinash Onkar and directed by Vishal Bhandar who

won the award for best international director at the 2000 New York International

Film Festival for his film " A pocketful of dreams " . Kaalchakra has also been

selected to compete at the festival this year. The film director and producer

will both be at the screening and participate in the discussion to follow the

screenings.
