Guest guest Posted April 3, 2008 Report Share Posted April 3, 2008 CCDS WORKSHOP 'REPORTING ON HIV/AIDS' Open Space, the civil society outreach initiative of the Centre for Communication and Development Studies, CCDS, Pune (www.ccds.in), announces a two-day workshop on 'REPORTING ON HIV/AIDS' to be held in Pune in early June. The workshop is open to young reporters/ correspondents in the print, audiovisual and internet media in Maharashtra and Goa who write or report on health issues and would like to develop perspectives to report accurately on HIV/AIDS. Young and mid-career journalists from district towns are encouraged to apply. The objectives of the workshop are to inform participants of the current debates around HIV/AIDS, and to promote discussion on the role of the media in reportage and advocacy in HIV/AIDS and identify concerns in media ethics. The sessions will be conducted by well-known public health activists, commentators and mediapersons. The workshop will be held in Pune, and the medium of instruction will be English and Marathi. CCDS will reimburse II AC rail fares to participants from outside Pune. CCDS will also take care of boarding/lodging arrangements for participants for two nights/days on a twin-sharing basis.
