Guest guest
We use Office Ally. We billed on paper for years and the transition went very smoothly. I have no experience with other electronic billing companies, but find Office Ally very easy to use. Office Ally is nearly free. Because a high percentage of our patient population is Medicare, we are charged about $20 a month for the service, plus any charges for paper bills that are mailed by Office Ally (an option you choose when signing up.) The charge is well worth it to us. Viel, Office Manager Mt. Eden Physical Therapy 19845 Lake Chabot Road, Suite 205 Castro Valley, CA 94546 mt_eden_pt@... Guest guest
I would like to pose this question to Viel and anyone who uses Office Ally. Is it as inexpensive as they advertise and are they reliable? Our electronic billing costs are approximately $150 a month and I just received notice they will be increasing again. Also, we are unable to bill Medicare secondary claims. Our electronic vendor has been working on it for the past year. I checked the Office Ally website and it certainly sounds good. -- Frances Siejkowski, Office Manager Middletown/Holmdel Physical Therapy P.A. Guest guest
Hi Thank you so much for your respond. I have a few questions regarding office ally. How long does it take to receive a respond if a claim is: denied rejected no coverage wrong id# wrong dx or cpt Emedon responds to us within 3 hours and all the reports are in the system. Also we receive a respond on all our claims that were received and in process within 3 hours or the next day. Do you receive these responds that quick also? We receive payments also from the insurance co. within 10 days, are you getting the same respond? Sorry for all the questions, I need to make sure that we are doing the right thing in changing the company. Thanks for all your responds. Guest guest
I personally did not have a good experience with OA....but some of my colleagues absolutely love it. Is it possible for you to do some claims with OA without completely switching over? That way you could try it out for yourself and see how it compares to Emdeon. Guest guest
I have been using O.A. for over a year and have had no problems. We have only paid 2 times and that was because our Medicare claims exceeded the amount of private insurance claims. Other than that it has been completely Free. The reports for the claims show up usually within a few hours or at least by the next morning. When claims are rejected, it will tell you why and you can correct them on the website. Medicare automatically forwards the claims on to the secondary insurance companies so I usually dont have to bill them. I can always send a paper claim if for some reason I dont get reimbursed by the secondary. Guest guest
How long does it take to receive a respond if a claim is: denied : rejected: no coverage wrong id# wrong dx or cpt Emedon responds to us within 3 hours and all the reports are in the system. **THE ABOVE USUALLY COMES FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY THEMSELVES. HOW CAN EMEDON RESPOND THAT QUICK? ONLY THE INSURANCE KNOWS IF THE PATIENT HAS NO COVERAGE,WRONG ID, DX OR CPT. IF THE INSURANCE REJECTS THE CLAIM IT USUALLY TAKES A COUPLE OF DAYS FOR THEM TO REPORT THAT BACK TO O.A. THEN YOU GET A NOTICE. Also we receive a respond on all our claims that were received and in process within 3 hours or the next day. Do you receive these responds that quick also? YES, AND IF YOU ARE MISSING SOMETHING ON THE CLAIM, IT WILL REJECT AND THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE REASON WHY AND YOU CAN CORRECT IT ON THE WEBSITE. We receive payments also from the insurance co. within 10 days, are you getting the same respond? MOST OF THE TIME. Guest guest
In response to Frances questions and to others. Insurance companies pay Office Ally for the service. They don't want us sending paper any longer. OA might raise their rates after we all join. Who knows? You can bill Medicare as a second on Office Ally, but it take a good deal of time filling in the CMS-1500 on-line. Essentially, you upload your claims, which are marked to be sent to Medicare as a secondary. The claims are rejected and tagged as secondary claims. You can go to the OA website and " correct " the claims by filling in what the primary paid, what the patient was responsible for, what your write-offs were, who the insured for the primary is, the primary insurance name and address, the reasons for having an insurance primary to Medicare, etc. You also have to append each line item by adding the GP or GO modifier. Then, I understand that you must FAX the primary EOBs to your intermediary (our has been NHIC). Billing MC as a secondary is never easy, it seems. Viel, Office Manager Mt.
