Guest guest
Announcement of Round 8 Call for Proposals by the Global Fund Against AIDS, TB and Malaria Dear Forum, The GFATM announced the global Round 8 call for proposals on 1st March, inviting countries to submit proposals for AIDS, TB and Malaria. The GFATM invites countries to submit one comprehensive country proposal through a national or regional Country Coordinating Mechanisms (CCM). In India all previous proposals have been submitted through the India-CCM. Following the global announcement, each year, the country announces a national call for proposals. The round 8 call for proposals is expected to be announced shortly. Based on the areas specified, individual proposals are submitted to the India-CCM, which, after careful scrutiny and vetting by an expert committee, are knitted together to make one proposal for each of the disease components. It is important to understand that though anyone - public sector, private, individuals, NGOs, academia - can submit proposals, only ONE comprehensive proposal is sent through the CCM. Proposals not sent through the CCMs, are not accepted by the GFATM. Proposals are expected to support scaling up of existing programs in the three diseases, offer innovative approaches for prevention, control care and support services for the three diseases and complement national strategies. For more details you may like to visit the following websites: www.indiaccm.org http://www.theglobalfund.org/en/apply/call8/ The deadline for submission of the proposal is 1st July, 2008.
