Mike,

I want you to consider a new pool company that is coming into the rehab

industry. There name is Vision Aquatics. They are new and I have seen there

innovative technology up close. They will set the standard in aquatic therapy as

soon as the market hears about them.

They are custom pools that allows the therapist to apply therapeutic

procedures as the patients needs dictate. Not what the pool dictates. Huge

difference.

If you have any other questions please reply or call me.

Group,

I am soliciting any and all feedback about SwimEx, Endless Pool or other

manufacturers for an outpatient neuro/orthopedic clinic. I would like to have

2-3 patients in at a time. We can accommodate a pre-fab 1 piece or a 4+ piece

pool. Size of the room to be determined largely by the pool.

Please consider use, longevity/reliability and any other factors that you deem

appropriate in your reply.

Thank you in advance,

Mike

After doing research for a pool for our facility (even though the

administrators ended up denying it) I looked at endless, swimex, and didn't

care for either one. The trouble with the swimex is that the floor is much

smaller room than at the top of the pool (unless this has changed

recently). Looked at the endless as well, was not impressed with the

durability that it showed. It has a removeable liner that didn't look like

it would hold up. We decided before it got cut to look at a " custom " pool,

where they have standard sizes but you can change depths on them. I don't

have the company name with me right now, but can get it to you.

Hope this helps,

Mike is you want to have 2-3 people at a time, we found it easier to have a pool

made, contacted with a company that makes pools, saved a bunch of money doing it

that way. They were able to do whatever we wanted as well, with depths of the

pool at different levels, stairs and bencnes in the pool. i would think that you

would need at least 20 by 40 feet of usuable space. Are you going to put PTs in

the pool with patient? then you might need something bigger, We looked at swim

ex and other pool companies but decided to go with another company which has

worked out really well so far. my two cents thanks

Mike-

We have had a SwimEx for over 10 years at one of our OP sites. It has been

trouble free. The instillation was a bit of a bear, however, especially to

design access to the controls. SwimEx worked very hard with us to find

something that worked with our site and space ( we had a shell of a building, so

had some space constraints.) I can't remember how many pieces ( 2? or 1) it

came in but I do know that it is designed so that if we moved, we could take it

with us through an existing ( wide) doorway

The challenge with our Neuro folks is entering and exiting the pool, as SwimEx

is standardly a pool ladder. We do have a lift we can use for patients who

cannot sit on the edge and slip into the water.

We probably underutilize the differing levels for our neuro folks. Use them a

lot with our ortho folks. We do have a deep well and replacing the cover

flooring takes practice. It does make the system more versatile.

The current paddlewheel is awesome- very variable and patients really like it.

Hope that helps.
