Guest guest Posted February 19, 2008 Report Share Posted February 19, 2008 AIDS alarm in UP 19 Feb 2008, 1550 hrs IST , PTI LUCKNOW: A total of 267 people have died of AIDS between January 2004 and July 31, last year in Uttar Pradesh, the state Assembly was informed on Tuesday. Replying to a question in the House, Health Minister Anant Kumar Mishra said the government had initiated a series of steps for creating awareness in people about the dreaded disease. He said that programmes were being conducted for controlling sexually transmitted diseases, surveillance, training and low cost community care in the state for effective control of AIDS.
