ABOUT SAATHII:

SAATHII, a non-government organization founded in 2000, works to strengthen and

scale up prevention and treatment in India through capacity building of civil

society and government sectore organizations. Strategies include information

dissemination, networking, advocacy, research and technical assistance services.

Known for innovative and multi-sectoral initiatives, SAATHII is registered as a

tax-exempt charitable trust with offices in Chennai (head office), Kolkata,

Hyderabad, Karur, Bhubaneswar and Jaipur.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAATHII is looking for suitable candidates for Deputy Directors at Kolkata,

Chennai, and Hyderabad Offices. The post requires a broad knowledge of

organizational, administrative and financial functioning, excellent technical

writing skills, and an in-depth understanding of health sector issues, with

special emphasis on HIV/AIDS, gender, sexuality and human rights. The Deputy

Directors will work in close coordination with the Office Directors and the

President to:

- Undertake strategic planning, ensure proper implementation, and

regular monitoring and evaluation of the respective office's activities

-Develop grants and other fundraising strategies

- Liaise with SAATHII's partner agencies and other HIV/AIDS

initiatives in India and abroad

- Provide inputs for human resources and other administration and

financial policies, and address disciplinary issues

- Lead the Local Management Committee in respective Offices

- Engage and supervise consultants, volunteers and contractors as

needed

- Travel in India and internationally to represent SAATHII at

meetings, conferences, seminars and workshops

- Keep abreast of information, events, programme and policy

developments related to HIV/AIDS (local, state, national and international)

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Demonstrated knowledge of HIV/AIDS and other health issues in India

- 8-10 years of experience in the health sector (HIV/AIDS preferred)

in India in organizational and project management (including strategic

planning, implementation, reporting, monitoring, evaluation, and financial and

human resources management)

- A university degree at the Masters level or higher in health, social

sciences, business administration, education or international development

- Experience in working or liaising with civil society, private sector

and government sector agencies, and forging solid partnerships with these

agencies

- Proposal writing skills, with demonstrated fund raising achievements

- Capacity to coordinate the transfer of knowledge and skills to a

broad range of learners

- Ability to work as a team player in a complex, multicultural

environment and with demonstrated leadership capabilities

- Knowledge and experience in human resource management

- High level of written and spoken English skills, public speaking and

presentation skills

- Sound computer skills (including usage of Internet and software like

Microsoft Office)
