Guest guest
Hi Everyone, We are treating patients under workers comp that need work re conditioning. We were billing the ins co code 97545 with 8 units. ( 15 min per unit for 2 hours) Some of the w/c insurance are denying the claims stating that we exceeded the amount of time for this code. I looked in the cpt book and it states code 97545 " work hardening/conditioning initial 2 hours " . Any additional time after the 2 hours we bill code 97546. It does not state the amount of units. We are looking for the proper way to bill the insurance co. so that we will not be denied in the future billing. Thanks JCPT __________________________________________________
Guest guest
97545 is one unit and that represents 2 hours. You might be having problems if you are billing for 8 units in that would be 16 hours. (2 hours each unit). code 97545 work hardening/conditioning Hi Everyone, We are treating patients under workers comp that need work re conditioning. Guest guest
The first two hours are billed as one unit under the 97545 code. Any additional hours are billed under the 97546 code - one unit for each additional hour. Don't forget your WC modifier and don't cry at the low reimbursement! Guest guest
I think 97545 would be one unit for the entire 2 hours and each additional hour would be 97456.
