AIDS cases rising in Golaghat district

GOLAGHAT, April 12 – The death cases from AIDS have been increasing in

Golaghat district. The total number AIDS cases are 36 out which 28 are

male, eight female and two children. The total number of HIV positive

cases are 95. Among them 65 are male, 30 female and seven children.

According to ICTC, KK Civil Hospital, Golaghat an up-date report said

that the persons who attended the ICTA were 4754. Among them 3754 were

male and 1000 female. Over 4100 were direct walk-in, 612 were referred

by doctors out of which 104 were migrants and 4650 indigenous.

The total number of persons tested was 4473 out of which 3586 were male

and 884 female. The route of transmission (HIV+ve) were heterosexual 82

homosexual are through infected syringe or needles/IDUs five and parent
