Hi all,

I seen my Surgeon today, he asked me how I was going and told me I looked well. I agreed to this and told him that I felt good, back to normal, over thesurgery. He asked me if I still felt restricted and I said I wasn't sure (puzzledlook from Dr.), since the surgery I have never had a full feeling likebefore the op. I know when I have had enough but it doesn't feel the same.He seemed to expect more from me. I said well if you asked me am I eatingless I would say yes. Compared to what I used to eat I only know eat afraction. At this time he asked me to get on the scales, he looked at myweight and said that it looked good. I was asked to take a seat, he lookedat my notes, then asked me to weigh in again. Then he told me that it wasphenomenal, I have lost 17kg in 5 1/2 weeks! Right about here my Surgeon started looking and sounding happier. He told me how well I had done and obviously I was following the eating guidelines. I admitted to following them prettyclosely but mentioned my icecream fetish last week and that I had sincestopped it. He even liked this as it evidently shows that I took responsibility and corrected my fault. Then we got on to the subject of my next visit, he said he didn't want to see me for three months! Hang on a minute, wasn't something else supposed to happen during this visit. Aren't I supposed to get an inflation while I'm here? You don't need it he says, go away and see how you go over the next three months. So I tried, well as I'm here you may as well put something in it, perhaps just 1ml even if it doesn't do anything, make the trip worthwhile. No I was told, so Itried, well even though I have lost 17kg I lost that in the first 4 weeks and have lost nothing in the last week and a half. I was told that I could expect that I would plateau after losing 17kg and I was still not going to get an inflation. He said, Sydney our goal weight loss (2/3) for you is35kg, you have lost half of this in 5 1/2 weeks, be patient. So I gave up and decided that he probably knows best.He asked me if I was dissapointed that he wouldn't inflate me and I said yes and no. He told me to be proud of myself and my achievement since surgery. I guess I should be but have always had a problem with praise.Oh well, I'll have to see how the next three months go.
