Guest guest
Hi everyone, I like having this list. Please let me know if anyone has trouble reading this. I haven't changed the format and use Outlook Express. Randall, I hope everything settles down for you now that you have got your results back. Lindy, I lost a lot at first and then came to a stand still, although I had to wait 3 months for my first fill. It started moving again after about 2 months but it has been slow for me. , Grace is interested in joining this group, she thought this group was connected to the larger group and didn't want to rejoin. A little about me to refresh some memories and introduce myself to new members. I was banded on 14/12/98 at Budderim Private Hospital on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland by Dr Ian Baxter. I weighed 130kg preop and now weigh around 95kg (I say that because I'm not sure). I have had a few problems since my 3rd fill in October of last year when I had about 2.75 ml in my band and it was too tight. Lots of reflux, burning and pain in my stomach. My band was loosened but then it was too loose. I had it readjusted a couple of times, adding a tiny amount at a time until I reached about 2.5ml. I decided to give my tummy a rest and wait until my checkup in December. Late November, I felt like my band was tightening all by itself, I was eating less and really only felt like drinking. I had some pain (I have a high threshhold for pain) and decided to wait until I saw my Doctor around the 14th Dec. When he heard about my symptoms, he suspected a slippage and removed all the fluid from my band and asked me to come back a month later. I saw him again in January, when I naturally assumed he would fill me up again, but I had been having a strange pain in my left side as well, and he was concerned about this and he wanted to give my stomach more time to settle, so he told me to come back on the 14 Feb. I am having a barium test on Friday, let's say it's not a meal if you know what I mean. My local doctor is trying to find out what this pain is in my left side. I still have it so I don't know what will happen next Monday as I desperately need a fill. I'm still very grateful that I have had this operation and would do it all over again if I had to. I'm sorry that this was rather long, Lois from North Brisbane
