Guest guest
Hello to all, A few of you know me, Grace from Brisbane. My story as follows. I had a band put in Jan 25, 1999. Afer ten months of ups and downs and losing 70 pounds I had the band removed in November1999 after a terrible vomitting bout that made me quite dehydrated and quite miserable. Over the 1o months of a band ( which I thought was fantastic by the way), My doctor( Feilding) and I found that I have a weak esophagus and consequently it does not push the food through the little hole like it should. What would eventuate is that every time I had a fill not matter how small, I would not be able to keep food down and would vomit it all back. (Unless it was pureed of course but who wants to eat like that forever!) the last episode in November made me qute ill hence the removable. Since that incident has been trying to convince me to have a bypass. I have been booked to have a bypass 3 times (the last on April 5) and have cancelled each time because I am not convinced that such invasive surgery to my body is the route I should take. I told on each visit if he would just put the band back in I would be happy. We would maintain it differently inthat I would not ever have fills. Without fills I was fine, but of course the weight came off slower. ( But who cares as long as I lose!) said no to this as he felt there would be too much scaring tissue on the stomach. When I called last week to cancel the latest bypass, Ronnie,( 's secretary) spoke to . Astoundingly enought she called back a few days later to tell me that is now willing to put the band back in!!! I have an appointment with in May to discuss further. Now the object of this long essay is to bring you up to date and ask for opinions! What do you think of 's turn around? Has anyone out there had the band put in twice? Would any of you do it again if you were me? Any coments on a bypass? Enough of me I look forward to many and varied opinions. thanks Grace
