Guest guest
Have any private practice PT clinics opted out of Medicare and survived... I am not only talking about from a patient load perspective but also referral sources? I opened a clinic 2 years ago and as I went around introducing myself and the new clinic the 3rd question the physicians asked me was, " Do you take Medicare? " We've been talking about it and when you factor in all of the time spent dealing with denials after seeing them for 3 months and all of the time the billing office spends to pre-authorize and find out if they have been seen somewhere else yadda yadda yadda I am sure that I am preaching to the choir.any way I'm fairly certain that I am losing money on each patient. I'd be better off to just see them for free and save myself all of the man hours, paperwork, and FAX machine toner etc. Jeff LePage, PT First Choice Physical Therapy Wasilla, Alaska
