Have any private practice PT clinics opted out of Medicare and survived... I

am not only talking about from a patient load perspective but also referral

sources?

I opened a clinic 2 years ago and as I went around introducing myself and

the new clinic the 3rd question the physicians asked me was, " Do you take

Medicare? "

We've been talking about it and when you factor in all of the time spent

dealing with denials after seeing them for 3 months and all of the time the

billing office spends to pre-authorize and find out if they have been seen

somewhere else yadda yadda yadda I am sure that I am preaching to the

choir.any way I'm fairly certain that I am losing money on each patient.

I'd be better off to just see them for free and save myself all of the man

hours, paperwork, and FAX machine toner etc.
