Dear Coalition Members and New Partners,

Coalition for AIDS Treatment Access (CATA), takes this opportunity to inform all

its members for actively participating in the Signature Campaign – An Open

Appeal to Dr. Manmohan Singh, Honourable Prime Minister of India for Roll Out of

Second-Line ART in India.

We appreciate all our members for their immense support and encouragement in the

process of mobilizing more than 10,000 signatures at various sites since

November as a follow up to the ad in the prominent Newspapers in The Hindu

(Delhi Edition) and The Financial Express (Mumbai Edition) dated 15th November

2007.

We all stand vindicated with the announcement made by the Health Minister on

World AIDS Day to cover about 2000 people who shall be provided Second-Line ARV

Treatment from January 2008 initially in two hospitals in Maharashtra and Tamil

Nadu.

CATA will continue its active advocacy campaign till we achieve Universal Access

to ARV Treatment for all and this signature campaign is one of the several

ongoing efforts in this direction.

We have more than 10,000 signatures signed by people from all walks of life in

hand and hoping to meet PM at the earliest and all the CATA representatives and

other significant members who have expressed willingness to join CATA shall be

part of the delegation who will be meeting to deliver the signatures.

We have a strategy meeting to discuss the way forward where we are expecting all

our CATA and interested members from other organisations to formally come closer

and make this forum more vibrant.

The immediate agenda are:

Delivery of signed copies of the Signature Campaign at the office of the PM and

Health Minister

Newer activities and strategies

Any other issues related

Date: 15th November 2007

Time: 10.30 AM

participation. In case you are unable to come please send a representative if

possible. A word of encouragement from you shall make all that difference to

build this coalition bigger, better and faster.

Thanks and regards,

CATA
