Guest guest
Hi , Measurements are subjective, which is the reason why Cranial Tech doesn't use them as much as visual comparison between head and headsicle to monitor progress. My neurosurgeon said they can actually differ up to 5mm, which is a huge difference!!! Anthropometric measurements are more accurate in monitoring progress, as they measure specific points in the head, but they may not necessarily be the most severe place, so they wouldn't necessarily be the most accurate in determining severity. The device most people use to measure is placed at two basically random spots diagonally accross the head. I know with Hannah's head she measured 2mm different just a couple days apart. One person obviously had it postitioned at a part on her head that was slightly more bulging than the previous person. The new digital scanning they will be using (some other companies are already using them) is amazingly accurate! Hannah had her head " digitized " at the Cranial Tech headquarters when we went to the mod conference and it was so neat! There are pics of her digitized head in her folder in the plagiokids section. > > Can I take a poll? Would anyone mind sharing their children's > > measurements with me? I'm really curious.
