Guest guest
Can anyone suggest what which route to take when working with a patient that you know is not getting better due to psychosocial components and work resentment/frustration? Any suggestions on work and or pain psychologists? In the Madison, WI area? Thanks for any leads or suggestions. Guest guest
In our setting w/c has paid for counseling relative to the pain as well as the psychological issues related to the injury and work such as resentment and anger. The physician ultimately has made the referral. Perhaps make the suggestion to the physician if you think he/she would be receptive. I also usually let the patient know I think he/she might benefit and get the patient's take first. If they are not receptive, it is usually ineffective.
