Guest guest
Yes. I have been treated for GERD (gastro- enterological reflex disease) for decades. For me, Prevacid works well. Often this is caused by a hiatal hernia. Of course, having a throat infection just makes it worse. GERD is usually treated with a proton pump inhibitor: Protonix, Prilosed, Prevacid, Aciphex, etc. Thank you for telling us about this. This can be very serious and is irritation of the esophageal tissue caused by stomach acid backing up into the esophagust. Do as your doctor advises, and be good, now. Love to you, Kate, and to all affected by this. n, who just had my first good gastroscopy in years! infection Hi all, Well, I was feeling a bit under the weather with a real bad sore throat; it got to the point I couldn't swallow real well. Finally went to an ENT today; he said I have 2 issues-one a very serious throat infection--the other, gastric acids that have come up and burned my throat real badly. There is a possibility I may have an ulcer or GERD; does anyone have a problem with either of these, and if so, what is the root cause, and what the heck do you do about it? I've noticed for about a month or more, upper stomach burning and nausea--not sure this is GERD or ? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. blessings, KatePlease visit: http://www.bicyclem an.comawesome guy, fantastic site. All types of bicyles, many recumbents; perfect for an MS Bike Tour! Guest guest
Anne, Can you share more about this? I have sleep apnea too, but have never been dx'd with GERD or an ulcer, but am having upper abdominal pain and pressure for about a month now. Who dx'd you with GERD? And did it start before or after you were dx'd with apnea? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to get to the bottom of what is going on with me. Thanks for any insight or input. blessings, Kate infection> > > Hi all,> Well, I was feeling a bit under the weather with a real > bad sore throat; it got to the point I couldn't swallow real > well. Guest guest
Gerd and Irritable Bowel go back a long way with me - one semester I did get an ulcer Sleep Apnea was diagnosed in 2006 - I had 3 heart sisters with it so my bitching = well they sorted me out - I knew about the sleep apnea - didn't know the word - started in 1984 - that year I was going through the divorce from hell and my dad was dying of cancer It lasted over a year until the stress was relieved by coming home. It resurfaced in fall of 1994 - and I still have it - my GERD is under control except when I get really stressed infection> > > Hi all,> Well, I was feeling a bit under the weather with a real > bad sore throat; it got to the point I couldn't swallow real > well.
