Guest guest
I'd be interested in hearing from other California hospital-based facilities re: whether or not you allow an Aide to work as a " second pair of hands " with a PT Assistant who is treating a patient in an Acute setting. And, if you do, do you require that the PT be 1) in the building 2) on the same floor 3) in the same room? The CA regs state that the PT must provide continuous and immediate supervision for the aide for patient-related tasks. However, the act of providing support/second pair of hands for gait or transfer training is defined in the regs as a non-patient related task. It doesn't have specific verbiage re: PT Assistant and patient or non-patient-related tasks. Please share your thoughts on the listserv or answer to me privately. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks.....and happy Friday! Cederlind, OTR/L Director of Rehabilitation Services Emanuel Medical Center Turlock, CA Ph: Fax: kristen.cederlind@...
