Does anyone know what a usual reading would be or if this is a sign of silent reflux? I have to wait another 3 weeks for a doctor to be able to discuss the results with me! I don't have the answer to your question, but I did just learn something very interesting about this test that I wanted to pass along. It may be relevant to you once you get the doctor's input. We know many children like mine that clearly do a lot of vomiting...and yet, when tested with the pH probe, the results come back " normal " . An explanation for this is IF your child is a refluxer mostly on a full stomach, then the acid reading on the probe is often diluted by the food in the stomach. We considered a lot of testing for . She has a bad history of vomiting...and reflux. But at the last minute, we chickened out because it was all too invasive when balanced against the information we could possibly learn. We already KNOW she refluxes...we have the carpet stains to prove it! Irene Mom to , 3.
