Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: /message/7903 Thanks to UNODC for talking on this issue. However, statement and information provided by UN on 03 October 2007 are not based on recent data. And I have every doubt that the figures mentioned by UN Representative was ever verified and authenticity checked (I'm talking about Bangladesh. I have very limited knowledge on Nepal situation). For many years these figures are being used and the same statement made in seminars and conferences. Let me ask three questions: 1) what is the source of this data? 2) When the study(s) conducted? 3) Who did the study? Please note, I have no disagreement about the issue, but I have concern about figures and its use. For your information, Govt of Bangladesh has formed two Committees 1) Inter-Ministerial Coordination Committee and Go-NGO Coordination Committee to monitor the situation and set up a Monitoring cell. These committees are meeting regularly to monitor the situation and provide necessary instruction to respective agencies as well as review the progress. Further, Ministry of Home Affairs of Bangladesh Government is publishing its Annual TIP Report (Bangladesh Country Report on Combating Trafficking in Women and Children) since 2005. Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: India Among Top Human Trafficking Destinations: UN /message/7903 Best way to avoid action is to question statistics. Instead of getting into a numbers debate people at the helm of affairs should try to understand the seriousness of the issue and try to raise their voice against these atrocious sexual behaviors. Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Human Trafficking is all about money. If all assets of traffickers and " end-abusers " were seized, the funds could provide education, healthcare, housing, job-training, and other essential life-supporting services to all targeted children in poor regions. Traffickers and " end-abusers " should be in prisons. Their assets should be dedicated to the victims and for prevention of future victims. B. Brinn Millennium Forum New York e-mail: GLOBAL325@...
