Guest guest
Hi Everyone, You are all invited to my house to see a life size replica of Mount Everest. My wife started constructing it last week out of several small ant hills. In record time she has finished her work on rebuilding Everest and is now starting on K2. That should be done by the end of the week. You can come and see that also. Our son started preschool at the beginning of May. He is doing well. I am OK but my wife is a wreck. Actually I am quite concerned also and the ant hill to mountian is a bit of an exaggeration. 's school asked us to provide a notebook for the teacher and therapists to write in everyday to keep us informed of how he is doing. Since is speaking we were pleased they offered to do this. Well so far we have gotten messages back like " had a good day " and " had gym today " . So far he has come home very dirty on 3 occasions, he has brought home 4 paintings/drawings, some grass, a mothers day card and most of the snacks we have sent to school we him. In addition the school keeps calling and asking when are we going to sign the IEP for summer school. Because it doesn't matter what the IEP says he is just in a " holding pattern " until fall. We keep saying " When are we going to meet his summer school teacher and therapist and when can we see the summer school ? " The school replies they haven't been assigned yet and won't be for some time. In addition we write in 's note book every day asking for more detail on his daily activities and for the physical therapist to write something. The speech therapist has actually done a wonderful job of keeping us informed of his speech therapy sessions. Well, yesterday, it was PMS day and at our house the fertilizer impacted vertically rotating air circulation system. So today Janet has informed the school that 1). If 's teacher doesn't give us more detail on his daily activities Janet is going to " volunteer " to help out in 's classroom everyday. 2). If the O/T doesn't write something then Janet will " volunteer " to help the O/T during 's therapy sessions 3). We are requesting a formal IEP meeting for his summer session to be held at the summer school with the summer school teacher and therapist. At this meeting we will insist that not be placed in " holding pattern " and that the school work towards meeting the goals agreed to in the IEP. If this does not happen, well I don't want to be the principal or the preschool coordinator ( who by the way is new and has never returned a phone call) or the Director of Special Services for the Nashua School district. It has been said that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Well that person never met a mother going through PMS and not knowing what is happening with a non talking 3 year old. Last, seems to be just fine and really likes riding the school bus. He gets home and asks (through signing) " more bus " . Otherwise, we are having a nice day. How is your day? Thanks for listening to the fun we are having with " the best public preschool in New Hampshire " according to a survey conducted by one of the state's newspapers.
