Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: /message/7881 It still is as relevent as it was in 2003, friends, I feel. But being a Private Practioner (PP) myself I do not accept that all PP's are irrational and all in governament set are great clinicians. Examples have been quoted over the years of omissions and commissions by all sorts of practitioners. The nexus between pharmaceuticals and doctors have been exposed from time to time --sometime Sankalp exposes Ranbaxy at other times Cipla is exposed by other respectable NGO,but the fact remains despite the exposures nothing concrete comes out of the exposures. I personally feel not only ARV or ATT's but the whole issue of prescribing needs to be introspected by we the so called qualified people and controlled by the so called Governament. Quackry is not done by only the unqualified ones it is we quzlified ones who do it equally . Aren't we promoting ourselves as cardiologists/ diabetologists/neurologist, allergy specialist, sex specialists and so on and so forth without having super specialisations? The problem is we no the problem but do not want ot find solutions. All nursing homes atleast in my state by and large employ Ayurvedic degree holders for even attending emergencies of grave nature. Some of the nursing home owners are even IMA torch bearers. We keep promoting unqualified or semi qualified people and put patints to their hands. Punjab went a step ahead and designatienated optometrists as Ophthalmic Officers. Opticians are ophthalmologists in our country and chemists are the best doctors. Unless there is apolitical will without the fear of loosing the votes,I fear there will be lots of MEENu Jains and Rakesh Bharti's and Chingo lals making noices to save people.
