Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: /message/7955 Mr. N.Angami's open letter in response to the NACO's chief Dr. Sujatha Rao calls for attention to all the peole working in the field. It is high time that we all come together and learn from each others mistakes than sit and criticize others who do not have a platform to come out and speak. It is the people involved at the grass root levels who know where the problem lies and why the initiatives and decisions taken at such conferences do not completely succeed when they are actually put into action. A due importance should be given to all such organizations and workers irrespective of their faith/ religion. This is one disease which brings multiple problems like stigma, discrimination of the victim, their children and NACO should make amendmendments in the strategies accordingly. Just making free ART to the victims from various ART centers is just a small help which a PLHA gets. Talk to any such victim getting free ART. Listen to the number of difficulties he or she has and you will realise what I mean. Only thing is that the policy makers do not have inclination to look at these issues. In fact, it is the NGOs, (many of them are christian organizations)who play a vital role to help the victims where NACO and SACS can't even think of reaching. Let's again come togther and fight the disease and be tolerant to each other.
