PRESS INFORMATION BUREAU CHENNAI COMMITTEE ON SEX EDUCATION VISITS CHENNAI The Committee on Petitions of Rajya Sabha headed by Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Member of Parliament, will be in Chennai on 23rd October to interact with parents, teachers' associations, state government officials, educationalists, NGOs and representatives of religious groups. The interaction will be based on the policy of the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development to impart sex education. The education is planned in the form of Adolescence Education Programme (AEP) meant for the students of CBSE affiliated schools all over the country. The Rajya Sabha Committee will also undertake field visits to some schools to gain firsthand information on implementation of the AEP. Individuals and organizations interested in sharing their views and suggestions on sex education with the Committee may submit their memoranda or meet the Committee between 1030 and 1130 hrs. on Tuesday the 23rd October 2007 at Le Meridian Hotel, No.1, GST Road, St. Mount, Chennai - 16.
