Guest guest
, A few things stand out to me. How much yogurt have you been eating when you say you get brain fog? Since your body reacts this way, have you tried starting out with a small amount and work up ? Maybe skip a day inbetween. Are you taking any acidolphilus to replace the bad bacteria with the good? Are you including healthy fats in your diet? You do go an awful long time without food, so can you get up earlier so that you can eat an have your food digested before you start yoga? I would suggest you eat several small meals. Can you juice veggies and drink it? Nuts and fruit can feed candida in some people. Have you checked through your usual food to make sure no illegals got in there? My opinion about adding grains in is that you will feel good for a little while, but then your problems will start back, because you haven't been healed first. I can imagine how sick and tired you are, I would definately want to encourage you to do the intro over and start back in again. Definately do the small meals starting with an early breakfast. This diet can be done without nuts and fruit. Katy _____________________________________________________________Purify your water with professional water treatment. Click now! Guest guest
Hi Katharine. I also have the wrong micro-organisms in my gut, including a non-Candida strain of yeast. I have never managed to stay on a strict anti-yeast diet (no fruit, no legumes, and I forget the rest now) for long enough to make a difference. I don't consume any foods that contain yeast or other fungi, because I am allergic to them. So wine, beer, yeast-breads, mushrooms, and mouldy cheeses have long been excluded from my diet. I have been on SCD for nearly 4 weeks. I am very fatigued, but this is also due to my underlying chronic illnesses and imbalances. I am not able to exercise very much, because of exercise-induced complete bed-bound fatigue. But I am slowly building up my energy envelope. I am also tired of being sick and tired, but your tired and my tired seem to be worlds apart :-) Sometimes it helps to reframe the concept of breakfast. I always have protein in my breakfast, to try to wake up my brain for the day. I haven't had cereal for breakfast for many years, and I don't miss it at all. Which proteins can you tolerate? What about hard-cooked eggs? Are there any cheeses you can tolerate? I sometimes mix dry-curd-cottage cheese with a bit of yogurt, to simulate the taste and texture of regular cottage cheese. Would that work for you? With my fungi allergies, I can't eat any cheeses that are made with mould, no matter how long they are aged. But I can eat Havarti, so that is one of my main-stays. Since starting on SCD, cheesecake (recipe in BTVC) is part of my breakfast several days a week. Can you tolerate meats? Is there any reason you couldn't have a small piece of fish or chicken for breakfast? I often start my day with chicken or with chicken soup. Also, are you able to eat vegetables? You might find that you can have a small salad or some cooked vegetables (depending on your tolerance of raw vegetables) along with some protein for a light breakfast. One more thought: I guess the timing of the morning class you give is set in stone, but do you really have to do your own yoga practice right after the class? Would it help if you set aside time after the class to eat and digest a good meal? Hope this helps. Ellen in Toronto SCD 2008-March-17 IBS, FMS, ME/CFIDS, MCS " Katharine " wrote: > Hi! Guest guest
Hi , Just a comment about nut flours. Do all nuts bother you? I find I cannot tolerate baked goods made with 100% almond flour, so I use 1/2 almond flour and 1/2 cashew flour or pecan flour. That seems to be a lot gentler on my system. As for breakfast, I usually have some protein and cooked veges as I cannot tolerate anything sweet in the morning and furthermore cannot eat eggs or dairy products. Sue SCD 3 months > > Hi!
