Based on the news paper report on Chandigarh: ART Centre staff sexualy abusing

HIV+ve patients, through an emergency meeting we tired to intervene so that

victim's voices could be heard by the people holding the reins of

administration.

We need all forum members guidance, direction and support on this issue.

Details of meeting

On dated 18.12.2007 cnp+ called for an emergency meeting on the

basis of reports appeared in news paper, The Tribune English daily on

15.12.2007, and in City Halchal, telecasted on 16.12.2007.

Members were shocked and condemned the morally depraved and

nefarious activities of people who were involved in sexual

exploitation of positive women. Members also showed their concern

about the functioning of counseling and testing centre and

requested for immediate intervention so that sense of confidence

could prevail and they don't suffer from any commotion when their

family member visit above mention centers.

Chandigarh Network of People living with HIV/AIDS (CNPPlus) demanded for

1 Protection and compensation to victims

2 Immediate registration of complain and termination of involved

people

3 Conduct of independent inquiry under the guidelines of NACPIII,

which promotes concept of GIPA (Greater involvement of people living

with AIDS).

4 Immediately formation of an emergency fund to be utilized for

helping poor positive women in all steps related to counseling,

treatment and rehabilitation.

5 Development of mechanism with association of CNP+ for implementing

all programs mentioned in NACPIII designed and developed by NACO

6 Immediate implementation of programs related to socio-economic

empowerment of positive people.
